Tips to control pests in your home

When you decide to go in for apartments in Kochi then you put a lot of thought into what kind of flat you will buy. Once you buy your house, you usually take care of the sweeping and mopping of the house regularly to keep it clean. But you probably miss out the nooks and crannies. And those places become the breeding grounds for flies, mosquitoes, rats, cockroaches and other pests. Let us look at a few simple things you can do to control pests in your house.

For mosquitoes and flies – People like to keep their windows open in order to let the fresh air come in. But along with the fresh hair, the mosquitoes and flies also come in. For such houses a wire mesh screen on the windows is a great solution. They do not allow the pests to enter but let the fresh air come in.

For ants – If your house is not in a high rise, but you have purchased one of the villas for sale in Kochi, then it is likely that there might be some bushes and shrubs around your house. In such cases you might frequently see ants attacking your food. You can avoid this by using a mixture of white vinegar, eucalyptus oil and water to wash the area and deter ants.

For spiders – You need to simply cut some onions into large pieces and put them into a bowl of water. You will see no spiders and cobwebs in areas where such bowls are kept, although we really don’t have any scientific basis to explain this.

For mice – Use large cans to store your food and make sure that the cans have air tight lids. Because the surfaces of the cans are shiny and smooth, rodents will slip more than they climb.
